Your continued donations are greatly appreciated.
Join Us as a Volunteer for Our Annual Woofstock Celebration!
This event is all about fostering local connections and making Gilmer County an even better place to live. To ensure the day is as vibrant and successful as we envision, we’re calling on enthusiastic volunteers to lend their time and talents. Your support will be the heartbeat of our event!
Each year, Woofstock is a major fundraising event for Friends of Gilmer Animal Shelter. All funds (donations and sales revenue) go back into supporting our ongoing Spay and Neuter Program as well as our community projects such as:
Support of Gilmer County Search and Rescue K9s
Microchip Scanner
Pet education at the local Boys and Girls Club
Bi-yearly drive-through pet vaccination clinic. Vaccinations are offered at a minimal cost with no additional office visit fee. This is made available to anyone with dogs and cats and you do not need to be a Gilmer County resident. Since its inception, the drive-through clinic has been highly successful and has seen as many as 476 vaccinations in half a day.
Spay and Neuter of “Community Cat colonies. We do this to reduce the number of cat colonies by spay and neutering. We also ensure that these cats also are vaccinated with a Rabies Vaccine.
